Stucco Da Vinci

Polished black Stucco Da Vinci polished plaster

Client: The Design Practice by UBER
Location: Cheshire

In conjunction with The Design Practice by UBER, applicArt’s supported the use of our range of Venetian Polished Plaster black Stucco Da Vinci and Silver Mirage Rustico.

When the client built the six bedroom, two gym house four years ago for his young family, he abstained from the local preference for new-build Arts and Crafts style and went for what he calls modern gothic. What is unusual – probably unique – is what exists in the basement of the clients house. A hidden door off the main hall leads to padded leather walls and dramatically lit stairs that descend, via a tinted-glass pivot door with a huge handmade crushed metal handle, into what can only be called a man cave – unlike any you may have seen before.

Inside a circular glass enclosure and spot lit on a slowly revolving turntable, the clients favourite car of the moment, a McLaren 650S, is displayed. The circular ceiling features our highly polished black Stucco Da Vinci polished plaster, adding to the visual elegance of the car and its surroundings.

The man cave continues at a similar, out-California-ing California pitch. A polished resin floor reflects the Venetian Stucco Da Vinci polished plaster ceiling in the games room that has a bespoke pool table. In the glamorous wash room, a specialist silver Mirage Rustico has been applied.

The Client explains that the original idea for the basement, finished just before Christmas last year, was to use the part where cars weren’t parked simply as a room to watch football and play pool. It only evolved into a state of the art man cave when the people behind the design got involved, The Design Practice by UBER, came up with a proposal that blew the clients mind. It was The Design Practice by UBER that applicArt supported.
